From May 12-18, 2019, Life Care Center of Lawrenceville, Georgia, celebrated National Skilled Nursing Care Week.
“We showcased how we achieve happy minds and healthy souls,” said Taishia Rice, activity director.
Themes and activities for the week included Motown Monday with a Soul Train Parade in which associates decorated residents’ wheelchairs, International Day in which residents and associates celebrated different countries and enjoyed an international food festival, Sock Hop Day with an Elvis tribute artist and Feel Good Friday with a staff barbecue. Associates enjoyed wearing their matching National Skilled Nursing Care Week T-shirts, reflecting the national theme of Live Soulfully.
“Every day, we assist our seniors and people with disabilities in living their happiest and best lives,” Rice shared. “Whether it’s planting, cooking, reading or listening to music, we pay it forward by helping individuals find their own happiness to improve quality of life.”
